Dear Learners,

COMPANY OVERVIEW
XHOSA FUNDIS provides Xhosa Language Courses and Learning Materials to individuals, companies and schools. We have been teaching Xhosa and developing innovative learning materials since 2004.
Xhosa Fundis CC is registered with both TradeWorld (Western Cape Supplier Database) and as a vendor with the City of Cape Town. We are in the process of getting our courses SETA accredited.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are committed to providing truly practical and accessible language courses which not only teach, but encourage and support learners to use and retain what they learn as part of their daily lives.
OUR BEGINNERS' LEARNING PROGRAMME
Our Beginners' Learning programme is divided into Course 1 and Course 2:
The first half of the programme, Course 1, aims to give learners the Essential Xhosa Social Skills which can be used regularly and in any given context. It is carefully paced so that by week 6, learners are able to have a full conversation of everyday small talk, from start to finish. This includes first meetings (introductions), future meetings, getting to know someone and ending conversations.
In Course 2, the second half of the programme, the aim is to equip learners with enough Practical Language Skills to be able to conduct at least some of their regular daily interactions in Xhosa, eg. garage, shops, interviews etc.
METHODOLOGY AND APPROACH
Team teaching: Our 2 instructors per class means that pronunciation skills and cultural aspects are taught by a mother-tongue Xhosa instructor while grammar is explained by a first language English instructor, who understands how to give beginners access to the language. In a nutshell, we provide a focussed and friendly learning environment with excellent tuition.
Integrated content: We teach all the necessary grammar and pronunciation, never in isolation, but always related to the language that the learners will be using in their daily lives. This keeps it relevant and gives learners a good foundation from which to build, should they wish to extend their knowledge further.
FREE XHOSA LEARNING SERVICE
Whether or not you attend a course, you can follow Xhosa Fundis and learn Xhosa for free on Facebook or Twitter. We send out a Xhosa phrase every week day, Monday through Friday with a link which will take you to our posterous site to listen to the phrase and giving you a breakdown of the word parts. Just do a search for Xhosa Fundis from your Facebook Account or to follow us on Twitter, go to www.twitter.com/xhosafundis.
DURATION
All courses run once a week for 6 weeks. Lessons are an hour and a half long, except for the first lesson which is an hour and fifty minutes long. Cost: R980. (see cost breakdown below schedule)
